Cyclone Neelam

Image
South India On Alert !       The deep depression in Bay of Bengal, which is 250 kilometers off Chennai coast, has turned into a cyclone as expected by the metereological center and its named as Neelam. The neelam cyclone i s expected to c ross tamilnadu (south of chennai) tomorrow (october 31st , 2012) may be at noon or evening. The officials in Chennai have already taken all measures to ensure that the loss would be minimum from this cyclone.

Line-follower Robot

Image
Abstract:          This simple robot is designed to be able to follow a black line on the ground without getting off the line too much. The robot has two sensors installed underneath the front part of the body, and two DC motors drive wheels moving forward. A circuit inside takes an input signal from two sensors and controls the speed of wheels’ rotation. The control is done in such a way that when a sensor senses a black line, the motor slows down or even stops.

Biomedical Sleep Inducer

Image
Abstract:                    Many people around the world experience difficulty in sleeping. Sleeping difficulty called insomnia, can involve difficulty falling asleep when you first go to bed at night, waking up too early in the morning, and waking up often during the night. The lack of restful sleep can affect your ability to carry out daily responsibilities because you are too tired or have trouble concentrating.

New technology can produce 'Petrol from Air'

Image
Experts hailed the breakthrough as a potential “game-changer” as scientists seek to solve the world’s energy crisis. The small company from the north England has developed “air capture” technology which creates synthetic petrol with only air and electricity. Company chiefs say they have produced five liters of petrol in less than three months at a small refinery in Stockton-on-Tees, Tees side by removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

SpO2 Measurement Using ECG

Image
Abstract:           ECG is the most basic electric potential of our body. In fact any the disease related to the heart can be easily determined using this “ECG”. But in our body each and every activity is interrelated with each other. From a minute cell to any system such as cardiac system, respiratory system is interrelated.

Anesthesia Control System

Image
Abstract:                An embedded system is a special-purpose computer system designed to perform a dedicated function. Unlike a general-purpose computer, such as a personal computer, an embedded system performs one or a few pre-defined tasks, usually with very specific requirements. Since the system is dedicated to specific tasks, design engineers can optimize it, reducing the size and cost of the product.                      Embedded system comprises of both hardware and software. Embedded technology uses PC or a controller to do the specified task and the programming is done using assembly language programming or embedded C.

Integrated Circuits

Image
An integrated circuit contains transistors, capacitors, resistors and other parts packed in high density on one chip. Although the function is similar to a circuit made with separate components, the internal structure of the components are different in an integrated circuit.

Relays

Image
A relay is a simple electromechanical switch made up of an electromagnet and a set of contacts. The relay takes advantage of the fact that when electricity flows through a coil, it becomes an electromagnet. The electromagnetic coil attracts a steel plate, which is attached to a switch. So the switch's motion (ON and OFF) is controlled by the current flowing to the coil, or not, respectively.

Transistors

Image
The transistor's function is to amplify an electric current. Many different kinds of transistors are used in analog circuits, for different reasons. This is not the case for digital circuits. In a digital circuit, only two values matter; on or off. The amplification ability of a transistor is not relevant in a digital circuit.

Diodes

Image
Diode is a two terminal device that exhibits a low resistance to current flow in one direction and high resistance to current flow in other direction. The Direction in which current flows is referred to as the forward direction whilst that in which is negligible current flows is known as the reverse direction. This symbol is used to indicate a diode in a circuit diagram.

Inductors

Image
An inductor is a passive electronic component that stores energy in the form of a magnetic field. This symbol is used to indicate a coil in a circuit diagram. Inductance value is designated in units called the Henry(H). When alternating current flows through a coil, the magnetic flux that occurs in the coil changes with the current.

Capacitors

Image
The capacitor's function is to store electricity, or electrical energy. The capacitor also functions as a filter, passing alternating current (AC), and blocking direct current (DC). This symbol is used to indicate a capacitor in a circuit diagram. The capacitor is constructed with two electrode plates facing each other, but separated by an insulator.

Anti-Theft System For Car

Image
Abstract:                         An anti-theft system is any device or method used to prevent or detect the unauthorized appropriation of items considered valuable. Anti-theft systems have evolved to match the introduction of new inventions to society and the resulting theft of them by others.

Patients Monitoring System

Image
Abstract:          The patient monitoring system includes a patient-data-acquiring section and a monitor section. The patient data-acquiring section includes a data-inputting device for inputting at least one of two data items, the first data item representing a patient image, and the second data item representing the physical conditions of the patient.

Anti collision system for trains

Image
Abstract:        Nowadays several new systems are invented to avoid the train accidents. This project is one of the methods to restrict the train accident like anti collision.   In this world, we are often facing train accidents. There is lot of accidents occurring because of collision . It may be happened by the signal problems. By this project the accidents between two trains can be avoided by using GSM & GPS Technologies.

Speed Control Using Embedded Processor

Image
Abstract:         DC motors are widely used in industry for their high reliability and low cost. The accuracy of motor speed control is a key issue. It is desirable that the motor speed be controlled within a given band under various known or unknown disturbances.

Intelligent load shedding using GSM

Image
Abstract :         Automation in every system is very much needed as it saves our time spent on it. In industries   maintaining the power below the fixed maximum demand is a big problem. If the fixed maximum demand exceeds then the industries have to pay penalty to electricity board. This penalty will be twice or thrice the amount of the original rate. Hence an automation process is required to solve the problem.
